TBN Greg Laurie Christmas Special

This segment is part of Greg Laurie’s Christmas Special on TBN. I had the privilege of producing and editing this piece. I also shot the footage of the guys coming into the stadium and watching the crusade as well as miscellaneous b-roll. Reality style shooting is always a challenge because you never know what you’re going to get. At a huge crowded venue like the Anaheim Stadium it can be hard to follow someone through crowds while keeping a good shot.

Dwight Thompson directs Harvest’s multi-camera shoots with the big TV cameras. When you’re watching the big screens at a Harvest event, you’re watching Dwight in action. The footage of Greg Laurie, the bands and most of the actual event footage in the the video is from Dwight’s crew. Before the event I asked Dwight and Ken Sanders (Harvest’s supreme video technician) to be on the lookout for Tristan and Ryder during the altar call. It was just a hunch that they might go forward, but I went ahead and asked anyway. One of the guys in the TV Truck (watching the monitors from the different cameras) knew what Tristan looked like so we were ready. When the guys went forward during the altar call Dwight captured them on tape, resulting in more footage for me to choose from. It’s great to work alongside guys like Ken, Dwight and the Harvest crew. Total pros.
